![]() ![]() This is an online class format we've developed. Get invited next time we schedule a class near you. We also do private training events where we come to your office and teach these curriculums. We primarily offer our classes in Los Angeles and San Francisco. Our public classes costs between $1200 and $1500 per student. I already have some construction knowledge which helps a lot, but you will learn fast if you don't.Īll in all, good job jumping into the Fiverr game with this stuff so early on.We teach our curriculums in person over the course of two days. I'm in the middle of that right now, drawing up a 3d model and construction documents (using LayOut) for a design/build guy who isn't very good with the electronic stuff. I think if you get involved in anything more than just the most basic conceptual plans (2d or 3d) you'll find you aren't charging enough for your time, whatever your skill level may be.ĭo you have any construction knowledge, architecture, etc? As /u/TampaPowers mentions, getting into the plans at much more than a conceptual level will take some knowledge beyond sketchup- I'd say at least basic knowledge of what goes into building a house, but it may be possible for you to work closely with an experienced builder or contractor who can point out some red flags or things that need to be considered. It takes a lot of time to create a 3d model of house plans and make it look decent. I just checked the plans and they look nice- this is probably a good way to get started and I bet this service could be very useful to someone who is just starting to think about floor plans for their house. Maybe start with something else like interior design, or landscaping drawings (would not advise though) maybe someone in real estate is interested in your drawings if they do not have floor plans for an object. ![]() I do not want to demotivate you, but I think construction and planning is too advanced and risky for a beginner. Just that it can be drawn does not mean it can be built. Not to mention countless cases of "impossible planning". Small mistakes in construction drawings can become very expensive very quick. Once you're happy with it, use your model and LayOut to make floor plans, construction drawings, 4 views, sections and some details.Īlso there's a lot of background knowledge and experience involved in planning and drawing construction plans, I would imagine this is the even harder part without proper education. Try getting into the 3d aspect of cad and "build" a house digitally from ground up. The doors and the bathrooms seem very small for my taste. The layouts seems a bit weird to me as well, might be because I'm not from the US. I do not want to be rude, but I do not see these drawings being of any use for planning or construction.Īn old foreman of mine always said: A plan without measurements is a picture. Recently some friends asked me for help with the landscaping of their new lot after a landscaper quoted them 100k for the works (steep terrain, multiple retaining walls, a raised terrace etc.).Ī nightmare to plan in 2D, so I figured i would give cad one more try.Īs for your drawings: kudos for managing not to rage quit and actually finishing some drawings. I've always enjoyed drawing by hand and, to be honest, had more tha one rage quit while trying to learn cad. ![]() I've bee working in construction for 12 years now, from bricklayer to project manager, and only recently switched the drawing board for cad. Welcome to the wonderful world of planning and construction! ![]()
